Since the beginning of time (well… 2019), we’ve wanted you to be able to make charles your own. So we made “Themes,” where you could add your company’s unique brand colors to your user interface.

And most of you did! But while we loved seeing charles take on hundreds of new identities, it came at a cost.

We want to make sure charles is accessible to everyone and we know adding different colors can make it difficult for people to use our platform, especially those with color blindness or other visual sensitivities. For example, if the brand color is too dark, there might not be enough contrast to read black text easily.

Not only that, but we want to focus our resources on our core mission of empowering brands like yours to have more and better conversations on WhatsApp – and investing more effort into maintaining Themes doesn’t feel essential to that.

For these reasons, we’re discontinuing Themes from week 25 (June 20-26).

What changes for you?

From week 25 (June 20-26), charles will revert to the charles brand colors (yellow, black and white). But don’t worry, your company name and logo will stay.
